You’re probably less stressed than most. Yale researchers found that acts of kindness – as simple as holding the door for someone, or bringing in the trash barrels for your elderly neighbor – can make you calmer and happier, immediately and long-term. In their study, the researchers found when we help others, it gives us a sense of purpose and puts our own troubles into perspective.
