Go anyway. Research has found that regularly spending time with at least 10 different friends makes people healthier and happier. That’s because having a wide support network helps you through tough times.

It’s water with lemon! We dehydrate overnight – and even slight dehydration drains our energy. So, drinking water in the morning will perk you up – and the scent of lemon triggers neurotransmitters in the brain that increase alertness.

Studies show that we’re more likely to binge on unhealthy food after a big accomplishment or win. In fact, a study in the Journal of Consumer Research found that pride can override our self-control – and we reward ourselves with bad-for-you foods.

Then guess what the healthiest cheese to eat is.
Goat cheese! Because as cheeses age, they releases water, and becomes denser and harder – so, they have more calories per ounce. So, even though goat cheese may taste fattening because it’s soft and creamy, it has fewer calories than harder cheeses, like jack and cheddar.

If you want to feel full longer, eat your meals – don’t drink them.

A study in the journal Obesity found that people who ate whole fruit felt 30% fuller 3 hours later than those who drank a fruit smoothie. Why?
Because liquid gets digested faster than solid food, and whole fruit contains
a lot more fiber than a smoothie.

It releases the hormone serotonin, which helps us feel more awake.
Chewing gum can even help you do better on tests…In studies, students who chewed peppermint gum while taking a test felt more alert and got higher scores than those who didn’t.
But there’s one thing chewing minty gum won’t do: Help us eat healthier! That’s because the flavor makes fruits and vegetables less appetizing. So, when people chew mint gum, they eat fewer good-for-you foods.
The lesson: Eat a healthy meal – THEN chew gum.

Don’t stress out, listen to your favorite relaxing music.

Go ahead and put Adele or Norah Jones on repeat. McGill University researchers reviewed hundreds of studies and found that relaxing music, with a slow tempo, relieves anxiety. It lowers our stress hormones and increases feel-good dopamine in the brain.

Eat an apricot! They’re one of the top natural sources of vitamin A… Which is a nutrient that switches on the genes that control insulin production. And just one apricot can help to prevent an energy-sapping crash.
