Did you know that the light from a full moon CAN affect our sleep? It takes us an average of 5 minutes longer to doze off when the moon is full, thanks to the extra light. Plus, we lose an extra half hour of sleep during a full moon because we tend to wake up throughout the night.

We have a natural dip in energy at around 3pm every day.

First, eat organic. Researchers found that dieters who ate foods grown with pesticides had lower metabolisms. That’s because the toxins interfere with the energy losing process, making it harder to lose weight.

Next, Stand up. Researchers at Missouri University found that 4 hours of inactivity can cause a shutdown of an enzyme that whisks fat out of your blood stream. This causes you to store fat instead of using it for energy. Experts suggest to burn more fat, break up periods of downtime by standing up during phone calls.

Finally, drink cold water. 6 cups a day can raise your resting metabolic rate enough to lose 5 pounds a year. That’s because your body uses more energy to heat the cold water to body temperature, burning fat in the process.

That’s why a martial arts expert doesn’t have to be the most muscle-y guy in the room to lay out his or her opponent. Case in point – Bruce Lee was 5’8” and only weighed 135 pounds.
