depressed-walkingGo for a jog! A Harvard University study shows that physical activity results in a 50% reduction in the symptoms of depression – and that’s as good as most antidepressant drugs. Walking, swimming, gardening and even doing your housework will improve your mood, provided you do these activities on a daily basis.

door-knob-germs

We all know to clean the toilet and nuke your wet dish sponge, right? But how often do you clean your salt and pepper shakers? Or your front doorknob? Those are just 2 of the day to day objects we come in contact with daily that are germ magnets. Many times we don’t think about the germs that are on those items. So stop and give them a cleaning while they’re fresh in your mind.

Know this before you go:
If you indulge in a medium popcorn with butter topping at the movies, you’ll consume over 1,100 calories. To burn off that amount of popcorn, you’d have to climb 1,700 stairs – the amount that leads to the top of the Eiffel Tower – 3 TIMES!

Do that and studies show you’ll eat less overall. That’s because apples are loaded with fiber, which takes longer to digest. Plus, they require a lot of chewing. And more chewing tells our brain, “I must be eating a lot to need all this chewing!”

cashewsResearchers at Reading University have found that people with body odor often have a zinc deficiency – it affects about 1 in 3 people! And the problem is even worse in summer, when sweating makes you lose even more zinc. But cashews are loaded with the mineral – which stops the growth of the skin bacteria that make you stinky. Not a fan of cashews? You can get more zinc in spinach and baked beans too.
