Are you among the 70% of people who have trouble sleeping at least once a week? Here’s a bizarre trick to try: Wear amber-tinted glasses a couple of hours before you go to bed. Because they’ll block out the blue light from computers, phones, and TV screens that stops production of sleep-inducing melatonin.

Columbia University Medical Center researchers had insomniacs wear amber-tinted glasses for two hours before bed every night for a week. Glasses that blocked 65% of the blue light, but left other wavelengths relatively untouched. Study participants also wore activity trackers that recorded the times they were asleep. The result: Those wearing amber glasses slept 30-minutes longer, woke up feeling more refreshed, AND got more solid sleep, with less tossing and turning.

Lead researcher Dr. Ari Schechter says, let’s be real… most people won’t give up their electronic devices before bedtime, so this may be the solution. Want to give amber-colored glasses a try? Just go on Amazon, and search for “blue-block glasses.” You can find some for $10 bucks. Try ‘em for two hours before bed every night.

Because UV rays go right through clouds, according to the American Academy of Ophthalmology. And with snow and ice, 80% of those UV rays can be reflected back up at you. By comparison, grass only reflects 10% of UV rays. And all that ultraviolet light can damage your retinas and lead to issues like cataracts. So wear sunglasses, even in winter, and make sure they block 99% of UV radiation.

Wear sunglasses. You’ll not only look cool, you’ll stop squinting and relax your face. Doing that will set off a chain reaction… and you’ll end up relaxing your neck, shoulders and upper body. That’s according to marathon running coach Andrew Kastor. He says that even a tiny bit of tension in your upper body can throw off your form, which means you won’t stride as powerfully. And tight muscles work harder and use more energy than relaxed ones – so you’ll burn out more quickly. So wear some shades and leave everyone in your dust.

I’ve got a list of surprising headache triggers and helpful remedies.

Stressful relationships can trigger a headache. That’s because when we’re anxious, we tend to take shorter breaths, leaving us oxygen-deprived. Our body tries to compensate by constricting blood vessels…And that constriction can cause head pain. So, when you feel overwhelmed, try the 2-5-5-5 method: Take 2 minutes, and breathe in for 5 seconds, hold it for 5, then breathe out for 5.

Aromas. 1 in 50 headache sufferers are sensitive to specific “trigger smells”, like gasoline, tobacco, and perfume. If that’s you, carry a bottle of essential oils to sniff when you’re around trigger smells. Especially lavender, which has been shown to boost relaxation, or peppermint, which reduces pain.

A sunny day. According to the Northern California Headache Clinic, the glare of the sun bouncing off water, pavement, glass or snow interferes with the area of the brain that controls pain…Which can cause an instant migraine. So, try wearing sunglasses with polarized lenses, and putting them on before you step outside.

Do you want to stay looking young?

One of the easiest ways to stay looking as young as possible is this: Avoid wrinkle-causing behaviors. For example:

Stop sleeping on your side. Squashing your skin against a pillow for 8 hours a night causes wrinkles on your cheeks, chin and chest. So, minimize any wrinkle formations by sleeping on your back. Or use a silk pillowcase. That way, if you do end up on your side – the material will slide across your skin instead of pulling on it.

Then, your morning commute could be prematurely aging you. Studies show that some of the sun’s most damaging rays can shine through your car windows – and your hands, forearms and face get the brunt of it. So, apply sunblock all over before you hop in the car.

And NOT wearing sunglasses can put you on the fast track to crow’s feet. That’s because squinting at the sun overworks the muscles that control facial expression around your eyes. So, wear glasses whenever you’re outside.
