According to chrono-biologists at Penn State University, it’s between noon and 2pm. Because that’s when our body temperature naturally starts to dip, which can make us sleepy. But taking a 10 to 20-minute power walk is proven to boost our heart rate and help keep us alert. So, we’ll have energy to power through the rest of our day.

It could be your cluttered kitchen, workspace, or even your computer desktop. Researchers at Princeton University found clutter can trigger sensory overload – which forces the brain to work extra hard, tiring it out faster. That creates fatigue and uneasiness. So try straightening up your workspace, and see if it helps.

When bedtime rolls around, if you’re not tired, DON’T go to bed and lie there awake… You’ll only condition yourself to associate your bed with staring at the ceiling and frustration. But you should associate it with peaceful slumber. So instead, stay up half an hour – or an hour – later. But set your alarm for the usual time the next day. According to the Annals Of Internal Medicine, that’ll help you get sleepy before you hit the hay.

If you plan on going for a run – but you’re struggling to get in the mood for it – you’ll end up running a lot more slowly. That’s according to sports psychology professor Dr. Chris Englert. The reason? Because you end up using all your willpower to force yourself to put on your shoes, and get out the door. Which means, you won’t have as much willpower left to keep going when you start to feel tired. So, here’s how to restore your drive to exercise: Sit quietly and focus on your breathing for 5 minutes. Your brain will feel calmer – and you’ll be much more motivated to have a good workout. It sounds simple, but it works.

If you’re feeling sluggish, try sipping some coconut water.

Even slight dehydration makes it hard for your blood to carry nutrients and oxygen to your brain and muscles…which leaves you tired and unfocused. So, try coconut water, which contains electrolytes like potassium and calcium that help carry fluids to your brain.
