Well, researchers looked into this, and the good news is, it’s not true. Because spiders tend to only hang out where they can find food – like in the corners of a room, where they can catch flies. And most beds offer ZERO prey for spiders, so they’re unlikely to crawl onto one – let alone go near your mouth. And don’t worry about a spider mistaking YOU for food. According to biologist Dr. Bill Shear, most spiders find humans “terrifying,” because our heart beat and breathing creates vibrations that spiders don’t like.
