That’s according to research in the journal Medicine and Science. They found that people who said mantras to themselves increased their endurance and found that their workouts felt easier. They key is to have a different message to yourself for each phase of your workout. So try something motivational to start, like “You got this!” In the middle, try something like, “Keep it up!” and to power through to the end, try something like “Stay strong!
