Here’s how:
Drink more tap or mineral water. NOT purified water. Purified water does not boost metabolic levels. But water with minerals does. In general, our liver and other organs need water in order to process nutrients and burn fat. And mineral water or tap water works best, because they provide nutrients that help us absorb the water into our cells.
Another metabolism booster: Oolong tea. Drink that instead of green tea. It’s a semi-fermented tea that increases our energy expenditure more than twice as much as green tea. It also inhibits the absorption of some of the fat we consume.
A final way to increase metabolism: Olive oil. It increases our energy burn more than flaxseed oil – even though they both contain omega-3 fatty acids. The olive oil triggers a larger post-meal calorie burn than flaxseed oil.
